Firearms Safety Course - Handguns
Sheriff Rick Kelley, along with the White County Sheriff's Office, is proud to be able to give back and host a Firearms Safety Course. We hope to continue to host one-day handgun safety courses for White County residents age 21 and over, who are legally able to possess a firearm.
Additional course information:
Participants will be submitted to a Criminal Background check through the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC). This course will include both classroom and outdoor range instruction. Course will be administered rain or shine. This course will begin at 9 AM, will break for lunch, and will conclude at approximately 4 PM.
Participants are expected to furnish their own handgun and one box of ammunition (at least 20 rounds). Participants should verify that the ammunition caliber matches that of the firearm they will be bringing to the course prior to arriving. No long guns or shotguns will be allowed for use during this course. A holster that fits the firearm is highly suggested.
Space for these courses are limited and participants will be selected on a first-come, first-serve basis. Selected participants will be notified and will receive an email with additional information prior to the course. Please make sure to put a valid phone number and email address on the application for contact.
Due to the requirement of completing a background check on applicants, only paper applications will be accepted. Applications can be completed by selecting the file below (print out and complete), or by picking up an application from the White County Sheriff's Office located at 1210 Hulsey Road, Cleveland, GA 30528. All paper applications must be returned to the White County Sheriff's Office by the application deadline. There will not be an online application for this course.
