The Uniform Patrol Division's responsibilities include responding to emergency calls for service, enforcing all laws, regulating traffic and preventing crime. The division has 24 post certified deputies who provide 24 hour service to citizens and visitors. Patrol Deputies are competent professionals delivering a high level of service embracing all challenges. White County is divided into 3 zones.
The Criminal Investigations Division (C.I.D.) is responsible for investigating all crimes that occur in White County. This division is responsible for all follow-up on cases, crime scene examinations, interviews, case preparation and court room testimony. Investigators are responsible for contacting victims to advise them of case status and a future point of contact.
The Civil/Warrant Division is responsible for processing and serving civil papers received from the courts, the service of arrest warrants issued by the courts regardless of jurisdiction, and the transportation all court production inmates and those requiring medical services. The Civil/Warrant Division is also responsible for courthouse security.
The White County Jail's primary responsibility is the housing safety and security of inmates and staff. The Jail is a 176 bed facility that handles approximately 1800 inmates annually. Programs offered include Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Education and Religious Services.
Inmates are utilized for maintenance and cleaning of the facility.
