Jail

The White County Jail's primary responsibility is the housing safety and security of inmates and staff. The Jail is a 176 bed facility that handles approximately 1800 inmates annually. Programs offered include Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Education and Religious Services.

Inmates are utilized for maintenance and cleaning of the facility.

Visitation

  • Jail Visitation

    Effective Friday August 13th, 2021 we are using www.iwebvisit.com as our visitation service provider.

    Inmates will be allowed one 15 minute on-site visit per week or up to six 15 minute remote visits per day.

     

    On site visitation times are available Saturdays from 9:00 am until 10:30 am and 1:00 pm until 3:30 pm.

    Visits can be scheduled by going to www.iwebvisit.com or by calling 775-434-8748.

    In order to schedule a visit through www.iwebvisit.com please do the following:

    -Go to www.iwebvisit.com

    -Click "Create Account"

    -After your account is created Log In under your user name.

    -Select Active Facilities

    -Select White County Sheriff’s Detention Center, GA

    -Search for the inmate you wish to visit.

    -Follow the prompts to schedule an on-site or remote visit.

    -On your next visit to the website simply log in under your name and follow the previous instructions.

    Visiting Rules

    The following rules apply to every person participating in an On-site or Remote visit:

    Inmate visitation is a privilege. Inmates who become disciplinary problems or security risks will not be allowed to receive visitors.
    Engaging in illegal or illicit behavior, including disrobing and/or any sexual behavior on or off camera, is strictly prohibited and will result in visit termination with no refund. A visitor who engages in such activity will be blocked for at least 7 days from all visitation at the White County Jail and may be subject to criminal charges.
    You must not display nude pictures to the inmate.
    Everyone who is in view of the camera must dress appropriately. Those visiting remotely must dress as if visiting the jail in person. All children must also be fully clothed.
    Any person under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be permitted to visit an inmate and will be required to leave the visiting center.
    You must be at least 18 years of age to use iWebVisit.com, or you must be accompanied by an adult while conducting on-site or remote visits. Any visitor who appears to be under the age of 18 and is not accompanied by an adult, will be blocked from visiting until proof of age is provided with a valid, government-issued photo identification.
    You must not take pictures/screenshots/video of the inmate during your visits.
    You must not conduct remote visits while operating a motor vehicle.
    Both White County Jail and iWebVisit reserve the right to terminate a visitor’s visiting access due to fraudulent activity, inappropriate behavior during a visit, or improper conduct toward staff.
    Each inmate is allowed only one (1) On-Site visit per visitation day.
    Visitors are allowed only one (1) On-Site visit per visitation day, with a single inmate.
    Visitors are not allowed to carry any personal items with them into the visitation area, i.e. no cell phones, purses, etc.
    Smoking, food, and beverages are not permitted in the visitation area.
    Visitors are subject to search prior to entering the visitation area. Any visitor refusing such search will be denied entry to the visitation area.

 

Inmate Accounts

  • Adding money to inmate accounts -Note- Inmates have the ability to transfer funds from their commissary account to their phone account.

    • Money Order addressed to inmate, mailed to the inmate by name (please include name and  "Inmate Accounts" on the envelope) at 1210 Hulsey Road, Cleveland, GA 30528, and must include the purchaser’s signature.

Mail

  • As of May 1, 2023, the White County Jail will no longer accept any non-legal mail. Non-legal mail received after May 31, 2023, will be returned to sender. This will include photographs. All non-legal mail must be addressed as follows:

  • Money orders may still be sent via envelope but must be marked with "inmates account" and name with no other correspondence 
  • Legal mail will still be accepted at the White County Jail. Any legal mail will be searched in the presence of the receiving inmate. 

 

Whites

"Whites" will no longer be accepted at the White County Sheriff's Office. Any articles of clothing needed by inmates must be purchased through store call. You may add funds to inmate accounts by clicking HERE or by the methods listed above (see Inmate Accounts).

Library

Each inmate at the White County Jail is offered the ability to utilize books from the Inmate Library. Library for the facility is conducted on Wednesday every week.

  • Book Donations- Books may be donated to the facility library. Books must be soft cover and jail appropriate. Donations may NOT include items made of “magazine” material and may not include staples. Lobby donations will only be accepted for the entirety of the library and cannot be donated to specific individuals. This includes religious materials.
  • Inmate Books- Books may be sent to a specific inmate only if it is mailed directly from the publisher/retailer, addressed to the inmate, delivered to the White County Sheriff’s Office. Books must be soft cover and jail appropriate. Books may NOT include items made of “magazine” material and may not include staples.

 

Bonding Information

  • Notice: Please allow up to three (3) hours for those recently arrested to be properly booked into the White County Jail, and any bonding information to be available. Inmate specific bond amounts may be found by visiting Current Inmate Population or by calling the White County Sheriff’s Office at 706-865-5177.
  • First Appearance Hearings are held at 02:00 PM, Monday - Friday. This will apply to most arrestees who are taken into custody by warrant without a pre-existing/ordered bond amount.
  • BONDING- All bonds require a cash bond fee of $20.00, exact change is required.  There are three ways to post an inmates bond.
    • Cash – a cash bond requires 100% of the bond plus the $20.00 bond fee be paid in cash funds to the Jail. Bond must be paid in exact change. In turn, the money is paid to the court as “Guarantor” that the accused will make his/her court appearances. Any cash bonds will be returned after sentencing. Please allow 30 business days for any cash bond return. If not received, contact court of sentencing.
    • Bonding Company – Please call or visit the White County Sheriff’s Office for an up to date list of approved bonding companies.  Per Georgia Law, staff is not permitted to make a recommendation. Our current participating bonding companies are:

      • Property Bond – Please call or visit the Law Enforcement Center for a complete list of required documents and fees if you have personal property you would like to use as collateral on a bond. General rules include:
        • You must have your previous year tax receipt showing paid for that year.
        • All persons listed on the tax receipt must be present, and must show a valid, state issued identification.
        • Property should be valued at least double the required bond amount.
        • All White County property bonds must be approved by the Sheriff of White County.
        • *OUT OF COUNTY PROPERTY BONDS*

*Any property outside of White County, but located in the state of Georgia, may also be used for the purpose of a property bond of a White County arrestee. However, the property owner MUST receive the property bond through the Sheriff’s Office of the county in which the property is taxed. Out of state property may not be used for bonding purposes.
